TIDE – “The art of food”
Tasmania is a land apart - an isolated island off Australia’s south coast, known for its vast, rugged wilderness. A pristine island of untouched world heritage mountains and forests surrounded by powerful, wild waves and sea.
These serving plates are an exclusive product celebrating the natural treasures of the island. Wild abalone shell from one of the leading abalone fishery’s in the world and specialty timbers unique only to Tasmania.
‘TIDE’ dishes are designed to enhance the aesthetic appeal of a meal. Eating is a sensuous experience. Before our mouths have tasted a thing, our eyes have already judged it. Food that looks beautiful does taste better!
Designer Shauna Mayben respects the importance of Tasmania’s pure, natural and pristine environment by using only responsible practices that are ecologically sustainable. With care, the abalone, wood and brass will last a lifetime.
After use, immediately hand wash abalone and brass with mild soap and lukewarm water and then towel dry completely. Avoid letting them stand or soak in water.
The brass will develop a natural patina over time, but you can choose to keep it bright and shiny with standard brass polish.
Oil wood with food grade oil every few months.
